As a result of the state of emergency last month I sought other work opportunities to pursue in the event that I could not return to Cajamarca. I was fortunate enough to find one that will take me to the Amazon for almost a month of project planning, data collection, and GIS mapping. Right up my alley. Today I went to a meeting to discuss the methodology and the plan for the planning of the project (that is not a typo). It was very interesting. And as usual I was a few steps behind trying to keep up with the development lingo in a foreign language. But what I found very interesting was the coded signs on the dry erase board that brought me back to my education at Berkeley and Heller. It doesn’t look like much, but if you have the right eye, it translates itself.
